The Little Things 2.0

 Back in March 2019, I wrote a slightly ramble-y post (as per) about appreciating the little things in life and touching on my mental health too. I've found the post so incredibly helpful over the past year or so; I often find myself reading back over the list of "little things" I made when I'm feeling down or lost. As well as that, the post actually ended up climbing to the second most-read on my blog. It took me by surprise that a personal and oddly specific post managed to do so well, and I really hope that means that my little list has helped even one other person to feel a bit brighter on a rough day. 

Everyday Make Up || 2020 Update

Absolutely nothing makes me cringe more than the fact that the most read post on this blog is my "Everyday Makeup" post from 2015. Thinking back to around the time I wrote the post, I can't even place using these products in my memory, and I definitely can't believe how many products and shades I used that were kinda questionable considering I was 17/18 and thought I knew what I was doing by then. It especially pains me to think back to the foundation shade I was using because it was NOT right for me at all, and product-wise (except for brushes) the only thing I still use from 5 years ago is the Extreme felt tip liner from Collection! It has to be said though, my makeup routine changes SO fricking much. I actually drafted most of this post at the start of lockdown and (with all the online shopping I've done lol) I've already changed the vast majority of products that I wrote about. I have kept the post mostly the same though, as the things that I've swapped out aren't necessarily things I'd never use again, they're just things that have been replaced with new products or things that I've wanted to try!

First Impressions || Glossier

It may shock some people to hear that I'd never bought a Glossier product before this month. They're easily one of the most "insta worthy" brands there is (and, embarrassingly, that's usually all it takes for me) and I've always been tempted by them, but only gave in to the temptation after talking to my best friend about some of their products. It's kind of become (yet another) bonding topic for us over the past few weeks. A discount code and nearly a hundred quid later- oopsie- there was a Glossier parcel on its way to my house.

January Goals

As I may have mentioned before, I do try and make New Year's resolutions if I'm feeling up to it at the start of the year. I say if I'm feeling up to it because I often find the start of a new year particularly difficult. There's so much of a buzz on social media about "new year, new me" and resolutions and fresh starts that it makes me wonder, should I be reinventing myself too? What if I'm okay with things as they are? Like many others, I usually take to my Finsta account (private insta, fyi) and post a few of my highlights from the year to reflect and look back at all the fun stuff I've done, but I always find myself thinking about what could have gone differently too. Thats just one of the things I want to change.

What I've Been Listening to || December 19

Music is a huge part of my daily routine and therefore my life, so I thought it was about time I did another music post (I think it's been a few years since my last!) A couple months ago Spotify made an "On Repeat" playlist, and then there was Spotify Wrapped 2019 at the start of December so I've a pretty good idea of what I've been listening to the most.

I always love Spotify Wrapped time of year, but they really outdid themselves this time as I got to see my top song and artist every year since 2010 which is when i first made my account... BOTH of them were Mayday Parade from that year, which was a flashback I didn't need to my eyeliner and sweepy fringe days. There was also a lot of One Direction which wasn't very surprising at all.

I've used both my Wrapped playlist and the playlist I've been listening to most this month to help me put this together, with a sprinkling of My Chemical Romance because they've been on repeat since Halloween!
